Artist Biography

Svetlana Trefilova is an artist of Russian-Ukrainian origin based in Brisbane, Australia. While she has explored various media and techniques, her current focus is on her unique *Watery Painting* style, using acrylic paints and inks. 

A member of both the Brisbane Institute of Art and the Royal Queensland Art Society (Gold Coast Branch), Svetlana frequently exhibits her work across South-East Queensland, earning several awards along the way. Since 2011, she has held at least one solo exhibition annually, with many of her paintings now part of private collections in Australia and abroad.

In addition to her artistic practice, Svetlana teaches short courses and workshops at the Brisbane Institute of Art and other local venues. She completed her Master of Arts in Visual Arts with Honours at Queensland College of Arts (Griffith University) in 2014 and is currently in the first year of her doctoral candidature.
